Dear Walmart,
I recently purchased some of your Parents Choice diapers. The package said they were "new and improved." Somehow I think that "new and improved" is code for: cheaper, less absorbent, rougher, less leakage protection and all around suckier. I am not impressed. I have bought Parents Choice diapers since my first baby was born and generally find Walmart brand products to be pretty good, but you have lost my loyalty on this one. I think you need to revisit your improvements department because this one was a flop.
Sincerely
Shopping elsewhere for diapers
I so agree!! I recently bought parents choice because I wasn't able to make it to Sam's club to buy the diapers we regularly do. I am so not impressed. My son tends to leak out the front of his diaper before it even feels soggy. We've had numerous blowouts (front, back, down the legs) which has resulted in a lot of stained clothing for both him and me! The cheap skate in me wants to finish using them up so I don't waste the money we spent, but is it really worth the other hassle that comes with it?
ReplyDeleteI AGREE! I have 3 kids in diapers (one almost potty trained, hallelujah!) and we mostly use cloth but for church and any other time we leave the house, I change them into disposable. Since we dont use that many disposable, I've always just bought Parents Choice and there is DEFINITELY a decrease in quality lately! My 3 month old would be dry one minute, then completely soaked through the next. It wasnt worth all the extra laundry! And Allisha, I had the same trouble with not using them up either...so I let my 2 1/2 year old use them for her baby doll. (They were size 1 I think.) She gets to change diapers as often as I do now, and I dont care as much about her wasting them!
ReplyDeleteI know exactyl what you mean! I used Parent's Choice diapers with three of my children and had no problems with them. Now that they have "improved" them, I have definetly had to switch to a different brand. They don't get tight enough at the waist to keep them from leaking dirty diapers up the back every time!
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY! With my daughter we only used Target brand, then with my son we were given a package of the Parent's choice diapers. They were HORRIBLE. We found that our cloth diapers worked longer, and better then the walmart ones. Usually disposables last longer then the cloth diapers, but really these ones leak. One didn't absorb anything, and I mean NOTHING at all. It was crazy. I ended up calling the company and just getting my money back, they asked if they could send coupons for new ones, and I told them not to bother, I'd just throw them out, I wouldn't ever recommend them to ANYONE! (Even people I don't like!)
ReplyDeleteEver thought about going cloth? I know parents choice are cheap but they were horrible for my little man. I switched to cloth and have not looked back since. Take a look at my blog and you can see what I make for my little man.

I've actually had a lot of luck with the new ones. I didn't care for their older ones when she was a small baby, but now she is in size 3 and I haven't had any leaks and they don't swell up so much when she is wet.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I am not the only one that thought the new ones were terrible. We use disposables only for overnights and these are definitely NOT up to the task anymore.
ReplyDeleteTo answer the question about if I have ever thought of switching to cloth diapers. My answer is yes-before I had children. Then once my first child was born I said, "There is no way on earth I am going to use these things" and I sold them. I say "bless every mother who uses cloth diapers-you are all amazing." I have absolutely no desire so use them. I do not have the patience as a mother for it. I will stick with disposables-just not the walmart brand.
ReplyDeleteI seriously just had the same problem. I am a huggies type of mom. Pampers have adverse reactions to my childrens bums! I so agree!
