Tablecloth Repurpose Series: Day 2 Baby Bib

Okay so here is day 2 of items to make from a table cloth (yes this one looks different than yesterday's but that is because I have a few table cloths lying around).  Baby Bibs.  Here are the positives for this project: washes off easily and... pretty much who needs anything else.  I use these in my traveling diaper bag-then I don't have to worry about taking it out and washing it at home-it can be wiped with a wet wipe and put right back.
To make these you will need a basic baby bib pattern and 2 pieces of a tablecloth (obviously bigger than the pattern you use).  This pattern is by Amy Butler.
1. Begin by cutting out your pattern as directed.  Cut a front and back out of your tablecloth.
2. Place right sides together and sew all the way around leaving an opening about the width of your hand at the bottom (center).
3.  Turn right side out, poke out all the corners.  Fold the edges of the opening inside and then top stitch a 1/8" seam all the way around.

4.  Attach Velcro to the two top ends (remember to put it on opposite sides).  I always use sew on Velcro for any item that will be worn.
That is it-a cute and super functional baby bib.  Make one to match the table cloth on your table and you will hardly notice your little angel making a huge mess of his or her dinner. :)

  2. I've been needing to make bibs for the twins for when they eat here - Now I know what to do. You may have noticed - I have lots of old table cloths around here. Thank you my dear.

  3. This is great. I was thinking that one of those pocket catchers could be added to the bottom to catch dropped food.

Love your reused table cloth series! Keep it up!
