Checking In

A couple of weeks ago when I posted that I was taking a break from posting for a while I felt like a huge weight of pressure had been lifted off my shoulders and I have to say I am really enjoying my time off.  I find myself constantly thinking, "oh I need to write a post about that or find an idea for a post" but then I remember "I am having a blog time out so no I don't."  It has really given me a chance to catch up on some much needed and wanted to do things.  Like this:

This is a "sisters" book that I made for each of my girls with my favorite pictures of them together from this year.  I think there are probably 100 pictures in it.  I made a cover out of matt board and then covered it with scrapbook paper and added some ric rac.  I love the end result-proof that something doesn't have to be fancy and expensive to preserve memories.
And remember my scraps box that was exploding everywhere?

Well thanks to one of my fabulous readers for the suggestion to put the fabric in zip lock baggies by color and thanks to my mom for helping me tackle the project, I now have this in my craft room instead:

Make sure you stop by next week for new and old snowman ideas.   I say snowmen are an all winter decoration-I already have mine up and we don't even have snow yet.  Lots of cute ideas to come next week so come visit.  And now-back to craft catch up and play time with my kids.

  1. That is an awesome idea for the scraps! I really need to do that. It would make it so much easier to find scraps for a particular project!

  2. Wow, I love the effect of these bags...should think of putting mine into these as well.
Thanks so much for the inspiration you give to me...I am still reading your posts backwards as I discovered your blog some days ago.
Made your colored sugar and it turned out to be sooo good.
    Love, Marina.
