Cupcake card

I was browsing blogs one day and came across this cupcake card featured on U Create. She has a link on her blog to the original creator. I didn't look at the directions for how she made her card (I never look at the directions) but I loved the idea and wanted to try it myself. Here is what I came up with.
I love how it turned out. I used fun foam with an adhesive backing for the cupcake, the sprinkles (every cupcake needs sprinkles) and the heart. For the wrapper I sewed 2 pieces of felt together and cut the top with pinking shears. I attached it with photo mounting tape. Here is the inside of the card. After creating this one I wanted to make more. I needed to make some thank you cards for some of the girls on the basketball team. So I used the cupcake idea again.

I used all the same materials to make the cupcake but this time I just made it smaller and I added the "sweet" tag. I love this card idea. I think I will recreate it over and over.
Here is the inside of the card.

  1. Way cute! Cards are so fun to make because they aren't too time consuming once you get your idea going you can make a lot in a short period of time.

  2. Oh I LOVE it, especially the square ones! I am having a creative block right now and stubbornly trying to finish a board book I started two years ago. But I am just not inspired right now, may have to move on.
